Vinnette Mae Glidden, M.S.
Owner and developer of the IRead For Life Center, Vinnette Mae Glidden, M.S. is a graduate of Florida State University’s College of Communication with a Master of Science Degree in Audiology and Speech – Language Pathology. She has worked in the Florida, California and Cayman Islands public school systems, including serving as principal of the Lighthouse School for Special Education.
During her tenure in the Los Angeles Unified School District, as a teacher for early childhood aphasic students, the District chose her class as the model to demonstrate justification for federal funding. She was also the Caribbean representative to the American Speech and Hearing Association during her employment with the Cayman Islands Department of Education.

While working as a Speech and Language Pathologist at various public schools in the Cayman Islands she saw a relationship between auditory and visual perception and the ability to be an excellent reader. During this time, she began to develop the methodology that is the foundation of the IRead For Life program. The IRead For Life method is a new and unique way of teaching phonetics, which is the key to learning to read.
In January 2012, Mrs. Glidden was awarded The Education Pioneer Certificate "In recognition of outstanding contribution to the advancement of education in the Cayman Islands" as part of the National Heroes Day Ceremony.
